Good Morning Yamon Ki Yesepar;

Psalms 78:23: “Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

The pashat is simple.  Aspah is speaking of the children of Israel when they were in the wilderness.  God is saying that even though he opened up the heavens  and manna came down, yet despite this miracle, they still would not believe.

There is a remez is found in verses 24 and 25.  These verses say that they ate “dagon” (grain or corn), the bread of the mighty “abar” and he sent them “food or meat” (sada) to the full. (verse 25).    Manna is not grain or corn, this is food of the mighty, who are the mighty?   Then he sent meat to their fill.  This clearly food that passed through the spiritual world into the natural.

Remember the rabbi’s counsel, “follow the daleth.”   The word in the Hebrew for door is daleth, lamed, taw pronounced  “daleth.  The Kabbalah teaches that daleth (door or portal)  expresses a doorway of the physical existence projected into a cosmic manifestation.

The Sages further teaches that the Hebrew letter daleth is related to the taw which is the last letter in this word.  The daleth has a value of 4 which is representation of the physical existence.  The taw has a numerical value of 400 which represents the state of completion and/or the spiritual world.  The word “taw” means a sign.  In theology we learn that a sign is that which can be externally recognized and which represents or signifies something internal. In other words a sign is a distinctive and uniquely recognizable covering that signifies an internal essence.

Let me explain it this way. You are in a state of happiness, that is the internal state. The external state is a smile.  The smile is not happiness, only a sign of the happiness.  The daleth is a gateway where the external sign, comes in contact with the internal or that which causes that manifestation of the external sign.  This is called, by the sages, truth. Hence God is truth for all that is good within us finds it’s reality in Him.  All that is evil within us would find it’s reality in the enemy.  When you open a daleth all that is positive in you finds it reality, which is embedded in God.  All that is evil in you, even physical illnesses, can not abide in you when you pass through the daleth or portal and attach yourself to God.

However, the sages teach a flip side to this.  As you see in Psalms 78, the people took of the food from heaven, but is was of their own desires (verse 29) and while the meat was in their mouths they were destroyed (verse 31).  Seems they opened the wrong portal. That which was of the enemy (selfish and fleshly desires) opened the portal.  It was a portal which seemed right unto man, but the end thereof was destruction (Remember Proverbs 14:12?).   If our physical or external manifestation opens a portal be sure that manifestation is of God (love, joy, peace etc.) and not of the enemy, (selfishness, lust, fleshly desires, pride etc.).  For both will open a daleth
